Sky1’s 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy has been nominated for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment at the 2015 International Emmy® Awards, which take place on 23rd November at the Hilton New York Hotel, following the global success of the mother-son adventure series featuring Irish mammy Nancy Ashmawy and her thrill seeking son Baz.
The septuagenarian adventure series has also been acquired by broadcasters in over 100 territories making this Sky Vision’s most successful factual entertainment property to date. Millions of viewers across the world, from Ireland to New Zealand, have seen Baz take 71 year old Nancy on a series of adventures around the globe, from flying helicopters to driving monster trucks and riding husky dog sleds, not to mention Nancy taking to the decks as a DJ in Mexico, proving that this mammy certainly shouldn’t be underestimated!
50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy isn’t the first Irish show to be honoured at the International Emmy® Awards. In 2013, Sky 1’s Moone Boy, created by and starring Chris O’Dowd, won the International Emmy® for Best Comedy. At this year’s awards, Sky is also represented with a nomination for Sky Arts’ Sensitive Skin for Best Comedy, which stars Sex and The City actress Kim Cattrall.
Baz and Nancy finish their 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy Season 2 adventure in Japan tomorrow night on Sky 1 where they battle the elements in a disaster simulator and visit a mafia gambling den and Nancy gets a special makeover! Sky TV customers can download previous episodes of 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy Season 2 with Sky’s Catch Up TV service.
