Monday 16 August Labour Leadership Battle
Ed and David Miliband put brotherly love to one side as they both battle to become the next Labour leader. They'll face furhter competition from foremer Secretary of State for Children,Schools and Families Ed Balls, left-winger Diane Abbott, and former Health Secretary Andy Burnham. Voting opens today with the winner being announced at the party conference on Saturday 25 September.
Thurdsay 19 August A-level Results
This year's A-level results are released today. A record number of A's were awarded in 2009, but last year's improvement in grades - for the 27th year in a row - only added to pressure on university places.
Sunday 29 August Notting Hill Carnival
More than a milion revellers and performers from across the globe will take to the streets of North London for the 45th annual Notting Hill Carnival, the largest celebration of it's kind in Europe.
Tuesday 31 August Transfer Deadline Day
It's transfer deadline day for British football clubs. Manchester City's Adam Johnson proved to be one of the better signings of the last window, and his club will be looking to strengthen again to help them crash the top four.
