Sky is great for sports lovers and great for sport. Sky Sports has dramatically expanded the quantity, quality, depth and variety of top-class live sport on TV. Sky Sports features an extraordinary range of sports and has transformed the way sport is covered on TV.
Before Sky Sports, there was little choice of live sport on TV. Fans were lucky to find a couple of dozen live football matches a season, there was no regular live club rugby and no live coverage of overseas cricket tours. Most sports struggled to get TV coverage at all. That's all changed. In 2008 Sky will broadcast more than 40,000 hours of sports across five core channels and the UK's only dedicated HD sports channels. We will show over 450 live football matches and every ball of England's cricket Tests and One-Day Internationals as well as a wide range of other sports from angling to wrestling.
